Hogback Mtn Ride - FINAL UPDATE
I am really looking forward to the ride this Sunday, August 21. I did a final pre-ride on Monday and I have enjoyed every time I have been on this route. I am however dropping the original destination, Hogback Mtn overlook, as the approach on route 9 had not yet received its first course of new pavement. So, the destination now will simply be Wilmington, VT where we will have a counter-service lunch at The Village Roost cafe with indoor, deck and outdoor bench seating options, followed by a chance to briefly familiarize yourself with this historic village at the intersection of VT routes 9 and 100. Other positive discoveries were that a detour I had originally included in the route is now unnecessary as the road has been reopened and I was surprised to find another road had an unexpected fresh coat of asphalt
For any of you still undecided about joining this ride, the ride time will now be just a bit shorter, about 15 minutes, and for those of you living south or southwest of Laconia, the return route provides four natural options for an early departure in the directions of Tilton, Concord or Manchester. But the really important reason to join us on Sunday is that you will end the day with a smile on your face and you will not have to later hear about the very interesting ride you missed.
See you Sunday morning at the McDonalds in Meredith on Route 3 by the intersection with Route 104. Pre-ride briefing at 7:45 AM. KSU @ 8:00 AM.

Should we call it the “Not Really Hogback Mountain Ride”?
