About the Event
All roads are 2-lane state (numbered) and local roads that will provide a truly enjoyable riding experience, especially within Vermont. We will enter VT from Claremont and pass through Springfield, Chester, Townshend and Wilmington to Hogback Mtn. The return will travel thru Dover, Williamsville, Dummerston and Westminster VT before crossing back into NH and working north via 10, 11, 4 and 104 to Meredith. The route in VT passes through two historic single lane covered bridges.
This is a full-day ride suitable for anyone who can handle the saddle time. We will have two rest stops in each direction. We will also pause at the River Valley Market in Wilmington where you can either get made-to-order deli sandwiches or shop the food truck in their parking lot. Our first stop returning to NH will include a dairy-farmer-owned Ice Cream shop. NOTE – The last one mile of road to Hogback Mtn is under weekday-only construction and is expected to have its first coat of pavement before this Sunday ride. I have already identified two alternate picnic sites in case the last mile to Hogback Mtn is not confirmed paved by earlier that week. This ride truly is one that is not about the Destination, but is about the JOURNEY. You will enjoy this ride and the route with or without Hogback Mtn.
